One of our clients is seeking a General Manager to define and deploy the company's global strategy, ensuring its growth, financial profitability, and operational excellence. Leveraging a dual sector expertise, the successful candidate will jointly lead maritime activities (Shipping) and the global supply chain (Logistics & Supply Chain).

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership and P&L Management

• Define commercial and financial objectives in alignment with the Board of Directors' roadmap.
• Manage the profit and loss (P&L) statement, optimize operational costs, and maximize gross margin.
• Identify and develop new growth opportunities across domestic and international markets.

2. Maritime Operations Supervision (Shipping)

• Oversee chartering contracts, shipping line management, and fleet/container capacity allocation.
• Negotiate framework agreements with shipowners, port authorities, and maritime brokers.
• Ensure compliance with international maritime law and manage risks associated with cargo transportation.

3. Supply Chain Optimization

• Direct end-to-end cargo flow management (Inbound, Outbound, and multimodal transport).
• Oversee warehouse infrastructure management, inventory optimization, and final distribution.
• Ensure customs and regulatory compliance for all international trade flows.

4. Leadership and Organizational Management

• Guide, unite, and develop operational leadership teams (Shipping, Logistics, Commercial, Finance).
• Foster a culture of performance, safety, and customer satisfaction throughout the organization.

Candidate Profile

• Education: Master's degree or equivalent (Business School, Master in Supply Chain / International Transport, or Engineering School).
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of proven managerial experience, ideally acquired within a shipowner company, an international freight forwarder, or a large-scale shipper.
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Incoterms, maritime law, freight pricing mechanisms, and industry-specific information systems (ERP, WMS, TMS).
• Managerial Attributes: Strategic leadership, proven high-level negotiation skills, macro-economic vision, and the ability to make critical decisions in complex or crisis situations.
